Food Education - Sugar is Bad

Everytime we talk about kids loving sugar, the first thing comes to mind is tooth decay, some parents also worry about their kids will get fat, or lose appetite.

Mindfulness means to be aware of the present moment, without judgment. Most children are already very present and mindful. But how can we make sure this lasts into adolescence and adulthood? The pressures of society and the education system create a very stressful and increasingly challenging environment for young minds. In the US, UK and Australia, mindfulness programs in schools are allowing young people to learn a life-long strategy to deal with negative thoughts and emotions as well as improving focus and concentration.

正念的意义在于不带任何评价地专注于当下。大多数孩子其实已经非常专注现在和具有正念意识了,但是如何才能让正念伴随他们直到青春期甚至是长大成人呢后?源于外界社会和教育系统的压力愈发严峻,年轻活泼的孩子们面临着巨大的挑战。在美国、英国、澳洲,校园中的正念学习帮助年轻的学生们获得了非常宝贵的并且能够跟随他们一生的技巧,应对消极思维和情绪时更加轻松,同时专注力也得以提高。

The mindfulness kids workshop at Sprout Lifestyle introduces children to mindfulness in a fun and active way.They will learn simple meditation and breathing techniques and take part in engaging and creative activities that reinforce the principles of mindfulness. The workshop will includemaking a "mind jar", mindful food preparationand mindful eatingexercises in the Sprout Lifestyle kitchen. Through an enjoyable and memorable session, they will take home the experience of how to meditate as well as knowing how to apply mindfulness in different areas of their lives.

此次在SproutLifestyle举行的儿童正念工作坊,将用一种乐趣和互动感十足的方式引领孩子们走入冥想的世界。他们不仅会学习简单的冥想和呼吸技巧,还能够参与我们精心设计的互动体检从而加强对于正念原则的理解和掌握。工作坊互动活动包含制作“正念瓶”、正念烹饪和正念饮食。通过这一系列令人难忘的互动体验,孩子们可以将冥想体验带回家继续运用,还能够将正念的技巧应用在生活中的各个方面。

  

Teacher's Bio

老师简介

Luna is a mindfulness teacher with a background in primary education. After 5 years of primary school teaching, she now combines her passion for teaching and mindfulness by delivering mindfulness meditation classes as well as mindful lifestyle workshops to help people be more present in their every day lives.

Luna是一位有着小学从教经验的冥想老师。最初的五年她在小学教书,而现在她将自己在教育和冥想方面的热情巧妙结合,通过正念冥想课堂和正念生活方式工作坊等形式,帮助人们活在当下享受每一天的生活。

  

  

Warm Tips

Parents are welcomed to rest in Happy Buddha next to the Sprout Lifestyle Cooking Classroom whilst your child takes part in the workshop. You are also encouraged to meet Luna, the mindfulness teacher who is very happy to share with you what mindfulness is all about and to learn about how you can develop mindful habits at home.

工作坊进行期间,家长们可以在同样位于2楼的SproutLifestyle烹饪教室旁边的美式素食餐厅Happy Buddha休息。当然,也欢迎你们在活动后与正念老师Luna面对面交流正念并学习如何将正念带回家与家人分享。

Please bring a clean, empty jam jar with a tight screw lid with you to make the mind jar.
